Most of the houses in the South
Coast Escapes collection have been renovated by the owners,
Robin Graham and Catherine Shields.
Their interest in older style fibro "beach shacks" led
them to the Jervis Bay area nearly four years ago.
What began as a weekend renovation hobby has grown
into South Coast Escapes, a unique collection of holiday
houses each with its own style and architecture. Some
examples of their recent renovations are shown below.
Robin Graham is a qualified architect
and heritage consultant who specialises in design
solutions for both new and older style buildings.
He works both in Sydney and on the South Coast of
NSW and his recent projects include the Husky Bakery
development in Huskisson, Jervis Bay and the Vulcan
Hotel renovation in Ultimo, Sydney.
Catherine Shields is a creative
director/consultant and a former art director of Vogue/Vogue
Living, Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire magazines.
More recently she has been working in advertising
and design specialising in "fashionable brands", as
well as in interiors and colour consulting. Her clients
range from five star hotels, leading fashion and accessory
brands, homewares retailers and local and State government.
